Evelyn Clark Cox age 97 died Thursday, November 07, 2013 at her home in Columbus. Services will be held Monday, November 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Gunter and Peel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raigan Miskelly officiating. Visitation will be held at one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Mrs. Cox was born on Sunday, December 12, 1915 in Montgomery County, MS to the late Fletcher Hamilton and Gertrude Dotson Clark. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, and Methodist Women. She was a graduate of Drew High School and Miller Hawkins Business School. She was also a member of the Cherokee Garden Club, and the Wednesday afternoon Bridge Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Myrick Cox, Jr. Survivors include her sons Billy Clark Cox (Pam), Columbus, MS and David Myrick Cox (Leslie), Ridgeland, MS; grandchildren Clark Cox (Nicole), Carl Cox (Rebecca) Chris Cox and Devin Headley (Massie) and great grandchildren Caroline Cox, Mary Bailey Rivers and Anna Beth Cox.
