Mildred Parrish Norwood, age 101, of Birmingham, AL, formerly of Columbus, MS, passed away January 20, 2014, at Golden Living Center at Riverchase in Birmingham, AL. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 3:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Cody Watson officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Norwood was born September 10, 1912, in Oktibbeha County, MS, to
the late James and Eva Upton Edwards.
She was a former member of the
Crawford Methodist Church and Central United Methodist Church.
In addition
to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, B. J. Parrish and
Jim Norwood.
Survivors include her daughter, Talullah Parrish Norwood and her
husband Cody of Birmingham, AL, brother, Wilson Edwards of Columbus, MS,
sister, Mary Ann James of Laurel, MS, grandson, Cody Richards Watson, and
numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
