Zela Marie Murphy Otts, age 85, of Columbus, MS, passed away July 1, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 3, 2014, at 10:00 AM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. Charles Mullins officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Egger Cemetery in Caledonia, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 2, 2014, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mrs. Otts was born July 26, 1928, in Monroe County, MS, to the late George Leonard and Hilda Miller Murphy. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Otts was preceded in death by her husband, Lennox Eugene Otts, son, Michael Otts, and daughter, Delma Jean Otts. Survivors include her daughter, Anita Cooper and her husband Chris of Columbus, MS, brother, Elzie Murphy and his wife Ann of Caledonia, MS, and grandchildren, Tiffany Marie Cooper of Columbus, MS, and William Bradley Cooper and his wife Shelley of Gordo, AL.
