Walter Byron W.B. Clardy age 85 died Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Columbus. Services will be held Tuesday June 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willard Pless and Bro. J.B. Flippo officiating. Burial will follow at Egger Cemetery. Visitation was held at Gunter & Peel funeral home Monday June 25, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m. Mr. Clardy was born on Saturday, October 30, 1926 in Pickens County, AL to the late George Byrd and Addie Bell Ruffin Clardy. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church. He retired from Clardy Well Drilling after 40 years of services. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Mary Clardy Huffman and brother George Clayton Clardy. Survivors Sons: Larry Clardy, Los Angeles, CA; Bobby Clardy(Kerry) Toccoa, GA; Don Clardy(Becky), Columbus, MS. Sisters: Otley Swartz Brothers: James Clardy(Betty) Grandchildren: Angie Clardy Flye(Randy); Jenny Clardy Taylor(Robbie); Ben Clardy(Tambi); Kathy Clardy; Chris Clardy(Heather); Kelly Clardy Perkins(David); Michael Clardy(Whitney). Pallbearers will be: Randy Flye, Robbie Taylor, Ben Clardy, Chris Clardy, David Perkins, Michael Clardy, Walter Dodson, Ronny Holder. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Sonny Huffman, Harry Sanders, Frank Brock, Mike Brock, Shilton Gilliland, Johnny Holliman, Hal Strickland, Allen Morton, Dr. Bart Williams, Dr. James Woodard, Duward Brown, E.M.T.s and Policeman that worked the accident site, Chaplin Tate and Staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital.
