SARA HARRIS - Sara Elizabeth Stough Harris, age 85, of Northport, AL, formerly of Steens, MS, died January 25, 2010, at Forest Manor Nursing Home in Northport, AL. Graveside services will be Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbus with Rev. Clark Richardson officiating and Gunter & Peel Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Harris was born January 27, 1924, in La Pine, AL, to the late William Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Norman Stough. She and her husband, the late Tulon L. Harris, retired and moved to Steens, MS, in 1969. Mrs. Harris enjoyed living on the farm and tending to livestock. She was a devoted wife and mother. Surviviors include her son, Larry Harris of Taylorville, IL, daughters, Linda Dewan of Dallas, TX, Jane Herrmann (Bill) of Birmingham, AL, Patricia H. Hopper of Columbus, MS, and Marie Webb (Jack) of Northport, AL, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorials may be made to the donor's favority charity.
