Elizabeth Anne Curtin Wilson, age 79, of Columbus, MS, passed away April 6, 2013, at UMC Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be Monday, April 8, 2013, at 11:00 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Diane Lemmon officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be Monday, April 8, 2013, one hour prior to the service at the church. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Wilson was born February 25, 1934, in Brisol, VA, to the late Thomas S. and Elizabeth Moss Curtin, Sr. She studied ballet with Constance Hardinge at Bristol Ballet and later at Ballets Russes in New York City. Mrs. Wilson studied at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, graduated Magna Cum Laude in English from MSCW and received her Masters in English from Mississippi State University. She taught English at S. D. Lee High School for 25 years and was the Director of Ballet Columbus. Mrs. Wilson was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and representing the congregation at Annual Conference. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. "Stein" Wilson, Jr. Survivors include her sons, Curt, Mark (Sandra), David (Margaret), and Steve (Tammy), brother, Thomas S. "Tommy" Curtin, Jr. and his wife Mary, grandchildren, Lacy, Thomas, Daniel, and Nathan, niece, Melanie, and nephews, Tommy, Bill, Norman, and Charlie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or the donor's favorite charity.
