Donald H. Beard
October 11, 1947 — January 25, 2014
Mr. Beard was born October 11, 1947, in Batesville, MS, to the late Glen Allen and Dorothy Pauline Fowler Beard. He was a graduate of S.D. Lee High School and retired from the Columbus Police Department after 20 years of service. Mr. Beard also owned and operated Beard's Produce for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Traywick Beard of Columbus, MS, son, Wade Beard and his wife Tabitha of Columbus, MS, daughter, Carmen James and her husband David of Columbus, MS, brother, John Beard and his wife Shirley of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Jessica James, Justin James, Megan James, Brittni Beard, Hunter Beard, and Brett Beard, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Watkins, Gary Moore, Carl Kemp, Ross Richardson, Donald Freshour, and Pete Bowen. Honorary pallbearers will be the Columbus Police Department Honor Guard, nephews, Frankie Traywick, James Traywick, Lloyd Weathers, and Dr. Doug Hill and staff of Cardiology Associates of North Mississippi.
