Charles Arthur Belcher, age 74, died Monday, February 22, 2010, at his residence in Columbus. Services will be held Wednesday, at February 24, 2010, at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 A.M. with Dr. Joe Pate, Greenwood, MS. officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Pickens County, Al. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2010, from 6 until 8 p.m. and an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Belcher was born November 9, 1935, in Pickens County, AL to the late Arthur Franklin and Mary Everlean Britt Belcher. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Pickens County, AL and was a retired tool and dye maker at United Technologies after 43 1/2 years. He enjoyed attending auctions, fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors. He was a friend to all, spent many years coaching softball, and was a mentor to several young men. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Leon and Tommy Doyle Belcher. Survivors include: Patricia (Pat) Crowe Belcher, wife, Columbus, Ms Four daughters: Cindy Rivers, Columbus, MS Tammy Mickley (Brian), Louisville, OH Terri Debbaut, Columbus, MS Missy Smith (Tim), Madison, MS Two sisters: Edna Boone, Columbus, MS Paulett White, Columbus, MS Grandchildren: Beth Rivers, Luke Rivers, Garrett Thrasher (Sophia), Torie Mickley, Trevor Mickley, Nicholas Debbaut, T.J. Smith, Lydia Smith, Aliza Smith, and Julianna Smith. Great-grandchildren Garrett II and Izabella Thrasher Pallbearers: Danny Malone, Mitchell Fitch, Garrett Thrasher, John Beasley, David Montgomery, Mike Coleman Honorary pallbearers: Herbert Junkin, Clayton James, Linwood Ashcraft, Kenny Oglesby, Terry Malone, Wyman Richard, Leon Raper In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any charilty of the donor's choice.
