ANDREW WATTERS - Andrew James Watters, age 25, September 18, 1984 - February 18, 2010, passed away Thursday morning, February 18th, after a valiant and graceful battle with a very rare cancer, as rare as he was, one in a million. His fight lasted 8 1/2 months. Prior to diagnosis, he was a 20 year cancer survivor, having first been diagnosed at 22 months and entering remission at age 5. Andrew said that re-diagnosis was the best thing that ever happened to him. His life of 25 years held more wisdom and experience than anyone could hope to have at such an age. He always celebrated life, no matter what, he was happy to be here and embrace it fully, with a smile on his face and a joy in his heart. Andrew was born and raised in Southern California, but also held a sincere love for his adulthood in the South. His professional efforts as a Valet Manager for AAA Parking allowed him to enjoy his life passion of cars and meeting new people. He is survived by his mother, Tammy Miller, step-father David Miller, brothers Justin Watters and Jacob Watters, sister Sarah Watters, father Jude Watters and wife Martha Watters, Grandfather David Watters, 2 step-brothers and 3 step sisters. Services will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church on Monday, February 22, 2010, at 11:00 AM with Gunter & Peel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Sunday, February 21, 2010, from 4:00-6:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. His mortal body will be laid to rest in Pomona, California and his spirit will live forever. Pallbearers include close family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Johnetta Blakely, Dr. John Whitecar and the CHOPA staff, Dr. Robert Jones and the Baptist Care Center staff.
