Mildred Aldridge Andrews, age 91, of Caledonia, MS, passed away Tuesday, June 28th at Windsor Place Nursing and Rehab Center in Columbus, MS. Visitation for Mrs. Andrews will be at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home on Thursday, June 30th from 6 - 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Friday, July 1st at 11 am with Elder Herman Clark of Sulphur Springs Primitive Baptist Church officiating and Elder Charles H. Kitchens of Jasper, AL., assisting. Interment will follow at Egger Cemetery near Caledonia, MS with Gunter & Peel Funeral Home of Columbus, MS, directing. Mrs. Andrews was born on March 19, 1920 in Fayette Co., AL. to the late Lonnie Bertis Aldridge and Mary Francis Johnson Aldridge. On June 9, 1942, at the age of 22, she married William David Andrews at the Huddleston home in Monroe Co. MS. She was a faithful member of Sulphur Springs Primitive Baptist Church in the Bartahatchie Community. Her love and dedication to the Lord and her family were evidenced in her daily life. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who devoted her life to her family, and to them, she will always be Mother and Mamaw. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William David Andrews, and her brothers, Victor, Clarence, Arlie, Billy Bryce, and sisters, Mary Helen and Beulah Fae Aldridge Allen. Survivors include son, William Eugene (Marilynn) Andrews of Columbus, MS; daughter, Janet Andrews (Tim) Butler of Caledonia, MS; brother, Carlie (Ellie) Aldridge of Olive Branch, MS; sister, Eula (Bobby) Harmon of Columbus, MS, sister-in-law, Gracie Lee Aldridge; grandchildren, Wendy (Damon) Feltman, Tim (April) Butler Jr., Chris (Keena) Andrews, Erin (Chad) Smith, Scott (Cecilia) Andrews. Also those who will miss her are 9 great-grandchildren, Austin and Andrew Feltman, Keegan and Lacey Smith, Corbin and Camden Andrews, Kadence and Addison Butler, and Nicholas Andrews. Others who were dear to her and mourn her loss are nieces, Barbara Ruth Kilgore, Magalene Ray, Inez Bell, Ruth Smith, Layne Hall, Jean Wooten, Ann Wright; nephews, Allen Aldridge, Dennis Aldridge, Keith Aldridge, Kenneth Aldridge, Wayne Aldridge, Benny Coleman, Jimmy Coleman, Jackie Coleman, Ernie Coleman, Dale Andrews, Dwayne Davis, Charles Smith, Earl Smith Kevin Cox, Tony Jacobs and Greg Jacobs and her beloved friend of 80 years, Mildred Ward. Pallbearers are Tim Butler Jr., Chad Smith, Chris Andrews, Scott Andrews, Benny Coleman, Dale Andrews. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Guy, Lamar Jones, Tommy Spruill, Dan Southerland. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Windsor Place who worked so hard to make the last seven years of her life meaningful and peaceful.
