KAREN COURTNEY Mrs. Karen Elaine Courtney, age 46, of Aiken, SC, beloved wife of Bobby Louis Courtney, Jr., entered into rest Monday, May 23, 2011. Born in McKeesport, PA, she was a daughter of Judy Miracle Dukes of Duquesne, PA. Karen had lived in Aiken from 2004 until 2005. She and Bobby came back to Aiken in 2006. Prior to her health declining, she had been a Lead Document Control Coordinator with Parson's Corporation. Karen enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She cherished the time spent with her grandkids, John Julius Danko, III, Thaiana Pitcock, Jacob Allen Daniels and Cody William Palso. In addition to her husband, mother, and grandkids, family members include a daughter, Teresa Marie Palso (Donald) of Blythewood, SC, son, Sgt. John Julius Danko, Jr. (Tonya) of Ft. Campbell, KY, siblings, Heather Chavis of Wilmington, NC, Charlene McIntyre and Edward McIntyre, both of Duquesne, PA, mother-in-law, Betty Jean Courtney of Austin, TX, brother-in-law, Keith Allen Courtney of Austin, TX, and sister-in-law, Angela Dawn Grout of Houston, TX. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home of Langley, SC, with Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 25, 2011, from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Hatcher Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 27, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Beersheba Cemetery in Columbus, MS, with Bill Grout officiating. Visitation will be Friday, May 27, 2011, from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. The family has asked that memorials be made to Helping Hands. (www.helpinghandsaiken.org)
