Mrs. Jessie Rhee Jordan Morton, age 89, of Columbus, MS, formerly of Caledonia, MS, passed away December 30, 2010, at Homeplace of Columbus. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 1, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. Ben Butler officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Egger Cemetery in Caledonia. The visitation will also be Saturday, January 1, 2011, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mrs. Morton was born January 17, 1921, in Vernon, AL, to the late Henry and Daisy Jones Jordan. She graduated from high school in Vernon, AL, and later moved to Caledonia, MS, where she was a member of the Caledonia United Methodist Church. Mrs. Morton retired from Seminole Manufacturing after 45 years and enjoyed gardening and baking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eclee Morton. Survivors include her stepdaughter, Elsie Sanders of Hamilton, MS, brother, Alfred Jordan of Tuscaloosa, AL, several step grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and all her dear friends from Caledonia, MS. Pallbearers will be Fred Moore, Yogi Waldon, Greg Duncan, Jody Josey, Davis Josey, and Luke Josey. Memorials may be made to the Palmer Home for Children, P.O.
