Madie Adams Blaylock, age 91, of Columbus, MS, passed away April 17, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. Stanley Blaylock, Rev. Steve Blaylock, and Rev. Phillip Blaylock officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Pleasant Ridge "Shake Rag" Cemetery in Lamar County, AL. Visitation will be Saturday, April 20, 2013, one hour prior to the service at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mrs. Blaylock was born August 16, 1921, in Qunicy, MS, to the late Oatha and Willie Lou Gentry Adams. She was of the Pentecostal faith and worked for a number of years at Glenn Manufacturing of Amory, MS. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blaylock was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Melvin Blaylock. Survivors include her sons, Bobby Blaylock and his wife Yvonne of Texarkana, TX, Donald Blaylock and his wife Carol of Sulligent, AL, and Jacky Blaylock and his wife Linda of Greenwood Springs, MS, daughters, Lois Flippo and her husband Wayne of Caledonia, MS, and Shirley Nell Green and her husband Larry of Denton, TX, 19 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, and numberous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ricky Flippo, Randle Flippo, Douglas Ferguson, Terry Blaylock, Jerry Blaylock, Michael Blaylock and Jeffrey Blaylock. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandchildren.
