Florentine Sobley Coleman, age 89, of Columbus, MS, passed away April 6, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Russell Brown officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 9, 2014, from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Coleman was born October 28, 1924, in Columbus, MS, to the late Albert E. and Viola Duncan Sobley. She was a lifelong resident of Columbus and Lowndes County and enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charlie Sobley, Fred Sobley, and Maurice Sobley, and sisters, Cleavie Nemeth, Judy Finger, Jewell Barnes, and
Katherine Cochran.
Survivors include her step daughter, Carol Yarbrough of Columbus, MS, sister, Nadine Gates of Columbus, MS, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Charles Sobley, George Sobley, Tommy Holliday, Stephen Hope, Kenneth Hope, and Woody Crowe.
