Martha Alvarez Martha Virden Alvarez, of Greenville, died at her daughters home in Columbus, MS on Thursday, June 10, 2010. A memorial service will be held at Saint James Episcopal Church in Greenville, MS on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 11, 2010 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at her residence, Crown House Apartments, D3, Greenville, MS. Mrs. Alvarez was born February 25, 1929 in Greenville, MS to the late Huron Wilkerson and Sarah Adams Virden. She was preceded in death by husbands, Joseph Willis Martin and Frank J. Alvarez. She was a lifelong active Communicant of Saint James Episcopal Church. She is survived by four children, John A. Martin (Teresa), Martha M. Gillis (Bill), Leonard L. Martin and Sara M. Williams (David); eight grandchildren; sister, Sara Hart Outzen and brother, Huron W. Virden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint James Episcopal Church, Greenville, MS, or the charity of the donors choice.
