REBECCA PORTER Rebecca Griffin Porter age 73 died Monday, August 04, 2014 at her residence in Columbus. Services will be held Wednesday, August 06, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Lammons officiating, burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to service. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Porter was born on Saturday, July 05, 1941 in Columbus, MS to the late Dayton and Essie McGee Griffin. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a retired Registrar at Mississippi University for Women, and a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Alvin D. Porter.
