Christine Welborn Johnson, age 95, of Columbus, MS, passed away August 20, 2014, at Trinity Healthcare. A family graveside service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating and Memorial Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Johnson was born August 19, 1919, in Laurel, MS, to the late Harry C. and Candace Windham Welborn. She was a graduate of Shady Grove High School and attended William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS. Mrs.Johnson worked for a number of years at Egger's Department Store and Ruth's and was a member of First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Victor Johnson. Survivors include her sons, Ronny Johnson and his wife Karen of Ridgeland, MS, and William Welborn Johnson and his wife Rebecca of Madison, MS, grandchildren, Candace Johnson Davis, Susannah Johnson Harris, and Tory Johnson, and seven great grandchildren.
