Jannie Susanne Hemby Simpson, age 50, of Columbus, MS, passed away September 4, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Simpson was born March 31, 1964, in Limestone, ME, to Vernon B. Hemby, Sr. of Columbus, MS, and the late Betty Jean Shores Hemby. Mrs. Simpson moved to Columbus from Florida eight years ago after working there in sewing manufacturing for over twenty five years. In addition to her father, survivors include her sister, Jo-Ann Kidd of Columbus, MS, and brothers Vernon B. Hemby, Jr. and his wife Vicky of Columbus, MS, and Dewayne Edward Hemby and his wife Kelly of FL. Memorials may be made to the Columbus Lowndes Humane Society, P.O.
