MARGARET HUDSON Margaret Frazier Hudson, 88 years of age, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. She was born on August 13, 1926 in Columbus, MS to the late Sidney Frazier and Rosa Powell Frazier. Mrs. Hudson attended S.D. Lee High in Columbus and was a member of the class of 1944. She attended MSCW (now Mississippi University for Women) and Northeastern University, Washington, D.C. She studied fashion design at St. Martin's School of Art in London, England. Mrs. Hudson was the store model for the five Montgomery Fair Department Stores in Montgomery, AL in 1957. She founded the Nancy Taylor Finishing School affiliated with Draughon's Business School in Montgomery, AL. Mrs. Hudson married her beloved husband, J. Dennis Hudson on June 3, 1948. To this union one son was born. Mrs. Hudson was a member of Columbus Church of Christ. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and was Regent of the Bernards Roman Chapter from 1981-1983. She was a member of the Terra Firma Garden Club in Columbus and enjoyed being a member of the Class of 1944 Third Thursday Luncheon Group. Mrs. Hudson is survived by her son, J. Dennis Hudson, Jr. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Dodson of Ripley, TN, nephews Russell Dodson (Nancy) of Ripley, TN and David Dodson (Judith) of Amarillo, TX. She is also survived by a niece, Ginger Anderson, of Branson, MO. Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel J. Dennis Hudson on March 29, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Rosa Hale and Patricia Frazier. Services will be held Sunday September 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Columbus Church of Christ Minister Billy Ferguson officiating, burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Roger Collins, Ralph Carter, Andy Hill, Wade Ward, Don Cole, and David Kilpatrick. The family requests memorials be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Mrs. Hudson.
