Albert Butler, age 80, of Columbus, MS, passed away October 4, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Gardner officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 8, 2014, one hour prior to the service. Mr. Butler was born May 24, 1934, in Columbus, MS, to the late Robert Aaron and Nelie Lee Butler. He received his associate degree from American River College of Sacramento, CA. Mr. Butler retired from the United States Air Force having served in Korea and Vietnam. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Aaron Butler and Ermon Butler, and sister, Elonia Nickoles. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Butler of Columbus, MS, children, Tim, Kathy, Sharon, Don, Chin, Niem, Nuni, Y-nhyi, Keke, The, Thu, Anh-nhi, Sarah, Rebecca, and Katherine, brothers, Robert Butler of Columbus, MS, and William Butler of Columbus, MS, sister, Lunette Nickoles of Columbus, MS, and very blessed to be survived by numerous grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Aaron Butler, Ricky Nickoles, Aaron Butler, Robert Wayne Butler, Bobby Nickoles, Danny Nickoles, and Mark Nickoles. Honorary pallbearers will be the staffs of Oxford Health Care Services, Gentiva Home Health, and Baptist Memorial Home Health Care.
