Okeva Ward McCrory went to be with her Father in Heaven peacefully on October 7, 2014 at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, TN surrounded by family. Born January 8, 1934 in Minden, LA, Okeva is survived by a daughter, Debbie Pridmore (David) of Spring Hill, TN; two sons, Michael McCrory (Renee) of Atlanta, GA and Mark McCrory (Melinda) of Amory, MS; Grandchildren, Jonathan Payne, Christopher McCrory, Matthew McCrory, Michael Pridmore, Collin McCrory, Katie McCrory, and Chase McCrory; one great granddaughter, Emily June Payne; sister Evadean Palmer; sisters- in-law Mattie "Sue" Cantrell and Caroline McCrory; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Mrs. McCrory was preceded in death by her husband Luna Edgar "Mac" McCrory and her parents, James Ward and Mattie Lou Ayers Ward. Okeva was a supportive military wife and mother, living in multiple military communities around the United States. Many met and remember Okeva from her career as Credit Union Manager at Columbus Air Force Base and Mississippi University for Women. She also served on the Mississippi State Credit Union Board. She recently relocated to Spring Hill, TN and enjoyed spending time with her great granddaughter. Visitation will be held at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home in Columbus, MS on Friday, October 10th from 4:00 - 7:00pm, followed by a celebration of Mrs. McCrory's life at 1:00pm, Saturday, October 11th led by Dr. Allen Simpson. A graveside service will also be held at Memorial Gardens of Columbus shortly thereafter. Her Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
