Pamela Gregory "Pam" Hughes, age 60, of Columbus, MS, passed away October 9, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at 11:00 AM at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Nashville, TN. The interment will immediately follow at Harpeth Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 13, 2014, from 6:00 - 7:30 PM at St. Henry's Catholic Church. Mrs. Hughes was born May 21, 1954, in Nashville, TN, to the late Clarence William and Opalle Marie Cook Gregory. She worked as a special education teacher's assistant and also in retail for a number of years. Mrs. Hughes was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and was a Relay For Life supporter. She was a cancer survivor and mentor to other cancer patients and their families. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Thomas W. Hughes of Columbus, MS, daughters, Erin Hagy and her husband Heath of Pekin, IL, Mary Cooley and her husband Daniel of Bentonville, AR, and Katie Hughes of Memphis, TN, brothers, Curtis Gregory and his wife Jan of White House, TN, and Michael Gregory and his wife Susan of Nashville, TN, sister Sharon Petty and her husband Mike of Franklin, TN, and grandchildren, Thomas Hughes Cooley of Bentonville, AR, and Max McCann Hagy of Pekin, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Annunciation Catholic School, 223 North Browder St., Columbus, MS, 39702, American Cancer Society, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS, 39213, or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
