Mrs. Jena Ellis Reid McDonald, age 93, died Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Trinity Healthcare in Columbus. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 2:30 PM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Whitney officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. The daughter of the late Howard and Mildred Downs Reid, Mrs. McDonald was born March 31, 1921 in New Albany, MS. She was employed at Seminole Manufacturing for approximately ten years and retired from Golden Triangle Hospital as an OB technician in the Delivery room. She was also a member of Grace Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters and their husbands Weeta Reid and Rayford Cash and Willeen Reid and L.E. Murray and a brother-in-law William H. Wright. She was also predeceased by two nephews Mike Murray and Wayne Murray, her daughter Eugenia Ruth Sullivan, her first husband Robert Louis Sanford and her second husband Edward McDonald. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Faye Sanford Chism and Steve and a sister Wilda Reid Wright, all of Columbus, MS, grandchildren Joe and Linda Sullivan, Lisa and Scott Papa, Lynn and Danny Browning, and Ramanda Cole Zaia; great-grand children Christy Fullerton, Heather and Charlie Cook, Mike and Jenny McNail, Brittany Browning, Anthony Browning, Cole and Dane Zaia and great-great grandchildren Kristen, Addison, Bailey, Parker, Avery, Scout, Nolan, Lexie and Lillie and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Joe Sullivan, Jim Sullivan, Gary Murray, Craig Murray, Scott Papa and Mike McNail. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Trinity Healthcare, Memorials may be made to the Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society, P.O. Box 85, Columbus, MS 39703.
