Sarah Opal Sizemore Welch, age 71, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at North Mississippi Medical Center -West Point after a brief illness. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 1:00 Pm at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Harding and Charlie Studdard officiating. Burial will follow in Egger Cemetery in Caledonia. Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6 until 8 at Memorial Funeral Home. The daughter of the late Morris and Blanche Walden Sizemore, Mrs. Welch was born January 14, 1943 in Monroe County, MS. She was a lifelong member of the Kolola Springs Community. She was employed for thirty eight years with First Columbus National Bank and Bank First, retiring in 2002 after serving as Vice President at Bank First. Mrs. Welch was an avid doll collector, enjoying flea markets and estate sales. Her doll collection spanned over forty years. She enjoyed her family, with her son being the love of her life. She was loved by many friends and co-workers, including her special friends "Sis" Dalannis Bishop and Mary Francis Spruill In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her mother-in -law and father -in-law Ervin and Verla Welch and her infant daughter Cynthia. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Billy Welch, her son Timothy and daughter-in-law Melinda Welch, four grandson Josh(Tiffany), Ryan, Ben and Ragan; three sisters and brothers-in-law Sue and Billy Goodman, Joan and Toby Hodges and Linda and Harvey White. She is also survived by in-laws Jimmy Welch, Judy Garner (Jim) and Jane Windle (Earl), as well as a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Pallbearers will be Earl Windle, Jason Windle, Brian Windle, David Garner, Jim Garner, Tommy Spruill, Billy Goodman, Toby Hughes, Harvey White, and John Baker. Honorary pallbearers will Al Goodman, Butch Hodges, Jerry Toms, Dr. Ronald Evans, Dr. Edmund Miller, Lynn Rye, ICU Nursing Staff and Respiratory Therapy Staff of North MS Medical Center, as well as former employees of First Columbus and Bank First.
