Stephen E. "Steve" O'Callaghan of Columbus, age 64, died Monday, November 10, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of his arrangements. A memorial service is being planned by his family and will be held at a later date The son of the late Charles E. O'Callaghan, Steve was born July 25, 1950 in Florence, Al. He was a 1968 graduate of S.D. Lee Senior High and started playing guitar in the band Blades of Grass while in high school. When not working at Bluff City Electronics, he continued playing with various bands in the area. He is survived by his mother Iva L. O'Callaghan of Columbus,his daughters and sons-in-law Carol E. and William H. Staves, Jr.of Wetumpka, AL and Heather and Quentin White of Ft. Walton Beach, FL.; brother and sister-in-law Johnny and Marilyn O'Callaghan of Caledonia, his grandsons Devin Staves, Landry Staves, Tristan Dixon,and Brandon Perrigin and his former wife Lynn O'Callaghan.
