He graduated from Millsaps College, did post-graduate studies at USM and at MSU, where he earned a PhD degree in 1974. He taught high school for 3 years in Belzoni, MS, occasional summer courses at Southwest MS Community College in Summit, MS, and courses in education and psychology at MUW from 1967-1993, serving on various committees, conducting workshops, and serving as interim head of the Dept. of Education at one point during his tenure. Prior to marriage in 1968, he enjoyed coaching and umpiring little league baseball, especially when his team, the "Doctors", advanced to South Boston, VA to win the Little League World Series. His favorite pasttimes included ham radio, reading, and camping, but most of all spending time with family. Following retirement from MUW, Charles worked with his wife in their local business, One of a Kind Screenprinting/Graphic Design. In recent years he suffered three light strokes, and most recently, pneumonia with complications. Charles was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, first in McComb, then in Columbus. A very devoted and loving husband and father, he will be greatly missed; yet, we celebrate in the knowledge that he lived by faith in Jesus Christ and is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior. Charles was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dianne Holliday Rueff; son, Charles Michael III (Mike, and wife, Cathy) of Columbus; daughters, Corinne Beauregard of Columbus and Carmen Anglin (husband, John) of Bossier City, LA; grandson, Michael Beauregard; granddaughter, Betty Anglin; and one brother, Walter Thomas Rueff and his wife Ann of Jackson, MS.
