REV. CHARLES R. DAMPEER Rev. Charles Ray Dampeer, age 78, died Saturday, December 06, 2014 at Southern Magnolia Assisted Living in Iuka, MS. Services will be held Tuesday, December 09, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Rev. Dampeer was born Saturday, April 18, 1936 in New Hebron, MS to the late Charleston and Tina Cliburn Dampeer. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Columbus. He was a Baptist Minister, having served many churches in Mississippi and Illinois before retiring to Columbus in 1999. He was a graduate of William Carey College, and New Orleans Baptist Seminary. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marion Sims Dampeer. Survivors include his two daughters Marsha Cosby (Dr. Walter), Columbus, MS and Cindy Bolin (Kent), Greenwood, MS, and his son Charlie Dampeer (Donna), Corinth, MS; his sister Bobbie Cody (Harold), Silver Creek, MS, and his brother Kelly Dampeer (Linda), Roanoke, VA. He is also survived by six grandchildren Nate Cosby, Callee Cosby Clark (Kyle), Brooks Dampeer (Emily), Blair Dampeer Glidewell (Brandon), Baylor Dampeer (Kayle) and Breck Bolin and two great grandchildren Carter Dampeer and Baylen Glidewell. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
