Anna Grace Love was born at Columbus Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi and departed this life at her home on December 3, 2014. Ms. Love was a descendant of early Lowndes County settlers. Ms. Love grew up in Columbus, attended Columbus schools and graduated from Mississippi State College for Women, now MUW, majoring in History. She received a Masters degree at the University of Alabama. She taught college history in West Virginia. She returned to Columbus when her father died unexpectedly and took over his business affairs. Ms. Love was involved in various organizations. After her mother's death, she traveled extensively with many of her cherished friends. She kept in contact with the friends she made through her travels and enjoyed all the cards and letters she received from them. She devoted much of her time to historical pursuits, cataloging and established the Love Family Collection at the Mississippi State Library honoring her family. Ms. Love was truly a special person who touched the lives of many people though her generosity. She had a great laugh. She had a special love for the pursuit of history and for reading especially mystery novels during her later years. Ms. Love was predeceased by her parents, William Joseph Love and Grace Mills Love, her aunt, Elizabeth Love Champion and several cousins. Ms. Love had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Coco, who survived her. Ms. Love will be greatly missed by all of her many friends located in Columbus as well as throughout the United States and her cousins, Anne Roberts of Columbus and Dr. Chester McKee of Boulder, Colorado and his family. A time to remember and celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
