BILL THOMPSON Billy Edwin Thompson, 73, "Bill" passed away on December 30, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. He was born April 30, 1941. He was pre-deceased by his wife Carol Jean Ragsdale Thompson and is survived by his daughter, Cathy Denise Thompson Jones Rueff of Columbus, his granddaughter Regina Danielle Jones of Portland, Oregon, grandson Brandon Colby Jones of College Place, Washington and grandson Brendon Cody Jones of Columbus. Bill has four sisters, Grethell "Dale" White of West Blocton, AL, Shirley Jones of Vernon, AL, Dixie Schumacher of Orange, CA, Barbara Moore of Columbus, and three brothers, Roy Thompson of Columbus, Rev. Ronnie Thompson of Woodstock, AL, and Danny Thompson of Vance, AL. He has many nieces and nephews, whom he adored. Bill was a mechanic for most of his life in the Columbus area. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 2 PM at Ruhama Baptist Church, highway 216 in Peterson, AL.
