Charles E. "Chuck" Dunning, age 78, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the MS State Veterans Home in Kosciusko, MS. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services, with Larry Ferguson officiating, will be Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The son of the late Clarence and Myrtle Wadley Dunning, Mr. Dunning was born February 6, 1936 in Smithland, KY. He retired from the US Air Force and moved with his wife to Columbus in the early seventies. He then went to work for Sears as an Electronics Repairman and took an early retirement from Sears. He was a member of First Christian Church and a former member of Green Oaks Golf Club. He loved to play golf there and at Whispering Pines Golf course at Columbus Air Force Base. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Renate Schmidt Dunning, who died January 16, 2001. He is survived by his special friend and caregiver Betty A. Kyle of Columbus.
