Mrs. Sarah Ellen Green Younger, age 93, died Friday, February 20, 2015 at Trinity Healthcare in Columbus. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, February 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM, with The Rev. Father Robert Dore, celebrant. Interment will immediately follow in Piney Grove Cemetery in Steens, MS. Mrs. Younger was born December 30, 1921 in Steens, MS, one of thirteen children of the late James Oscar and Willie Quinn Brownlee Younger. She was a graduate of New Hope High School and a communicant of Annunciation Catholic Church. She retired from United Technologies as an Administrative Assistant after 38 years of employment. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twelve brothers and sisters and her husband James W. Younger, who died January 27, 1992 She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Mark A. and Cynthia Younger of Steens, MS and James W. Younger, Jr. and Dr. Sue Younger of Madison, MS, four grandchildren Luke Younger, Natalie Younger, Elizabeth Younger, and Sean Johnston and two great grandchildren Gaige Johnston and Daniel Johnston. Pallbearers will be Mark A. Younger, Luke Younger, George Green, Carwin Green, Sean Johnston, Ed Yarborough and Gene Boggess. Memorials may be made to Annunciation Catholic Church, 823 College St., Columbus, MS 39701.
