Glenda Winter Clardy, age 82, of Columbus, MS, passed away February 20, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, MS. Funeral services will be Monday, February 23, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Gunter & Peel Chapel. The interment will immediately follow at Andrews Chapel Cemetery in Pickens County, AL. Visitation will be Monday, February 23, 2015, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mrs. Clardy was born March 2, 1932, in Tunica County, MS, to the late Richard Lee and Opal Stewart Winter. She was a graduate of Mississippi University for Women and received her masters of education from Mississippi State University. Mrs. Clardy was a retired school teacher after thirty years with the Columbus School System. She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved to read. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clardy was preceded in death by her husband, George Clayton Clardy, daughter, Deena Lynne Clardy, and sister, Nancy Winter Clement. Survivors include her daughters, Melanie Kay Taylor and her husband Richard of Maben, MS, Lisa Renee Winters of Phoenix, AZ, and Gina Gaye Clark and her husband Greg of Amory, MS, grandchildren, Corrie Weatherford, Neal Vitalis, Haley Dickerson, Brittany Winters, Ashley Wikowski, Addie Clark, Aryn Clark, and Holden Clark, and great grandchildren, Grace Weatherford and Lily Winters.
