Betty Jean Cook York, age 69, of Columbus died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at her home. Services will be Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev.Grant Mitchell, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon at Memorial Funeral Home. The daughter of the late Enoch and Ruby Kimbrell Cook, Mrs. York was born March 10, 1946 in Carbon Hill, AL. She was a member of Caledonia United Pentecostal Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother James Cook , her sister Mary Jones and her husband James Lee (Buck) York. Mrs. York was a true caregiver to many, always opening her home and her heart to someone in need. She is survived by her daughters Angela and Kimberly, her sons Patrick and Mark, her sister Laura Leverette and her brothers Doug Cook and Wayne Cook, all of Columbus, MS and several grandchildren.
