Mrs. Jean Brenda Vaughan, age 93, of Eupora, MS, passed away March 18, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center Nursing Home of Eupora. There will be no memorial service. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of her arrangements. Jean was born February 28, 1922, in Manchester, England to the late Sidney and Dorothy Gray of Prestwich England. Jean married Leslie E. Vaughan, also of Manchester, a musician, artist, and renowned Textile Designer. Jean and Leslie immigated the the U.S. in the mid 50's and settled in Mount Vernon, NY, with their two sons, Stephen age 6, and Christopher, age 10. Jean was a member at the Church of the Ascension, and a past President of the St. Margaret's Guild. She was also a member of the Daughters of the British Empire. After a number of years they moved to Pelham, NY, where they had another son, Jonathan. Jean became involved in the Huguenot Yacht Club, and they were also members of the Pelham Country Club. Jean was an avid gardener and a member of the Pelham Gardening Club. Jean and her husband became U.S. citizens in 1995. Jean is survived by her eldest son Christopher who resides in Marietta, GA, and his sons David, Mark, and Jeffrey of Phoenix, AZ, and Christopher Jr., who lives in Tarrytown, NY, and great granddaughter Christina also of Phoenix, AZ. Middle son Stephen resides in Eupora, MS, and his daughter Nicole lives in London, England with her husband, Jonathan. Her youngest son, Jonathan lives in Hilton Head, SC, with his wife Claudine and their two children Emily and Sabina. Jean was fondly called "Noonie" by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and close friends. She will be remembered for her love of life, and love of friends and family.
