Zula Mae Cross Whitlock, age 95, of Columbus, MS, passed away March 21, 2015, at Trinity Independent Living. Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gardens of Columbus with Rev. Tommy Gillon officiating. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Whitlock was born October 28, 1919, in Kilmichael, MS, to the late Luther and Mae Green Braswell. She was an active member of Fairview Baptist Church where she enjoyed all senior activities. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitlock was preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis "Pop" Cross, and second husband Edwin Whitlock. Survivors include her sons, Ray Irvine Cross and his wife Mary of Florence, AL, and William Paul Cross of San Antonio, TX, grandchildren, Kim Cockrell and her husband Robert of Ocean Springs, MS, and Scott Cross and his wife Ellen of Florence, AL, and great grandchildren, Margaret Joy Cross, Scott Cross, Jr., and Olivia Preston Cross. Pallbearers will be Gerald Scallions, Bill West, Robert Cockrell, James Richardson, Wayne West, and William Bell. Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children's Villiage, P.O.
