IRMA LATHAM Irma Johnson Latham, age 88, of Ethelsville, AL, passed away April 12, 2015, at Community Hospice Darlington Oaks of Verona, MS. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Bro. Redus Hall officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Shiloh Cemetery near Gordo, AL. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 14, 2015, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mrs. Latham was born November 14, 1926, in Lamar County, AL, to the late Andrew and Florence Stanford Johnson. She worked for South Central Bell for 33 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Mrs. Latham was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Ethelsville, Ladies VFW, AL Foresters Association, AL Cattle Association, and Pickens County Farmers Federation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Latham, five brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include her sons, John Wright and his wife Denise of Cedar Bluff, MS, Rick Wright of Tuscaloosa, AL, sister, Lizzie Taylor of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Warren Wright, Corey Wright, Teri Higginbotham and her husband John David, and Andy Wright and his wife Rebecca,eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Warren Wright, Corey Wright, John David Higginbotham, Mark Fulgham, Andy Wright, and Jimmy Williams. Memorials may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church, 2162 Eagle Rd., Ethelsville, AL, 35461.
