Albert Wayne Eaves, Jr., age 81, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Revs. Eric Davis and Allen Dees, officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home and Sunday from 1:30 PM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery in Crawford, MS. The son of the late Albert Wayne and Minnie Mae Sellers Eaves, Mr. Eaves was born July 24, 1933 in Winston County, MS. He was a veteran, serving in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was also a history teacher and school administrator with the Columbus city school system, a longtime member of the Magnolia Kiwanis Club and a deacon in the Bethesda Baptist Church for many years. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Laura Dean Murphy and niece Suzanne Eaves. He is survived by his wife Lois Dean Bell Eaves of Crawford, his daughter and son-in-law Louise and Ed Davis of Starkville, brother and sister-in-law Laney and Joyce Eaves of New Orleans, LA, grandchildren Christopher Davis of West Point, Eric and Christine Davis of Wilmore, KY, Julie Anna Murphy of New Orleans, LA, Joseph and Haley Murphy of Oxford, Vaughn (Murphy) and Ryan Phipps of Oxford, MS and Sarah Ann Murphy and her fiancé Justin Maynard of Nashville, TN, and great-grandchildren Cole Murphy, and Henry and Edgar Phipps and nephew Mark Eaves of New Orleans, LA. He is also survived by other close family members Barbara and Jimmy Bell and Jewel and Charlie Holcomb, all of Crawford and Jim and Cherie and Brandon and Logan Bell of Caledonia. Pallbearers will be Christopher Davis, Joseph Murphy, Ryan Phipps, Justin Maynard, Logan Bell, Brandon Bell, and Mark Eaves. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Bell, Jim Bell Charlie Holcomb, Keith Hancock, Jim Chamberlain, Allen Hinkle, former members of the Magnolia Kiwanis Club, Sanctuary Hospice Nurses House and Staff, Gentiva Hospice nurses, all other caregivers and Deacons of Bethesda Baptist Church.
