Raymond D. Mullins, age 77, of Columbus, MS, passed awayApril 18, 2015, at his residence. Funeral services will be Monday, April 20, 2015, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. A private family interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, April 20, 2015, one hour prior to the service at the church. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Mullins was born May 29, 1937, in Pound, VA, to the late Ted Vaughn and Maxie Gibson Mullins. He was a graduate of Pound High School and Mississippi State University. Mr. Mullins moved to Columbus, MS, in 1959 while serving in the United States Air Force. He worked for 30 years as an office supply sales representative in Columbusand later owned and operated Woods & Water Sporting Goods Store. Mr. Mullins was a member of First Baptist Church and the Gatewood Sunday School Class. Survivors include his wife, Syble Noland Mullins of Columbus, MS, sons Steve Mullins and his wife Patty of Tallahassee, FL, Andy Mullins and his wife Deborah of Medina, OH, and Danny Mullins and his wife Mitzi of Columbus, MS, brother, Gerald Mullins and his wife Judy of Phillburg, ME, sister, Aneta Bickford of Fayetteville, NC, grandchildren, Hollie, Jessie, Neely, Kaitlyn, Michelle, Danielle, and Josh, and great grandchildren, Cooper, Callin, and Brock. Pallbeaers will be Jack Larmour, Mike Noland, Earl Weeks, Thomas Southerland, Jim Keen, Mike Round, and Dave Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be the Gatewood Sunday School Class, Jack and Nancy Larmour, Bob and Joan Redwood, Mike and Susie Noland, Dr. Adam Smith, Dr. Wails Alnas, and the staff and nurses of Gentiva Home Health & Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. 829 Columbus, MS 39703.
