Vernon Kendrick "Kenny" Brett II, 67, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Services will be Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Caledonia United Methodist Church with Rev. Prentiss Gordon, Jr. officiating. Military honors will be held after the service at the church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will follow at 4:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sumner, MS. The son of the late Vernon Terry and Rebecca Irene Pipkin Brett, Mr. Brett was born May 30, 1947 in Clarksdale, MS. He was an Eagle Scout, a graduate of Mississippi State University and a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Navy. He was also a member of Caledonia United Methodist Church and was employed in sales for Brett Wholesale Grocery. He is survived by his wife Rebecca Everett Brett of Caledonia, MS, his daughter Melinda Rose Brett of New York, NY and his sister and brother-in-law LaNelle Brett and William Lacey of Tupelo, MS. He is also survived by two nephews William Brett Lacey (Brooks) and Moultrie Brailsford Lacey II (Delisha). Pallbearers will be John Andrews, Bill Blair, Bill Darnell, Brad Freeman, Brett Lacey and Moultrie Lacey II. Memorials may be made to the Caledonia United Methodist Church, P.O.
