TRUMAN LANCASTER Truman S. Lancaster, age 80, of Columbus, MS, passed away May 16, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Monday, May 18, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. Kenny Gardner officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Columbus. Visitation will be Monday, May 18, 2015, from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mr. Lancaster was born July 11, 1934, in Gordo, AL, to the late Olin and Martha Hall Lancaster. He retired from the City of Columbus as a truck driver. Mr. Lancaster loved to play guitar, sing, and also loved animals and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Lancaster, Clifton Lancaster, Earvin Lancaster, and Bill Lancaster, sisters, Nell Coleman and Pauline Mullinex, and great grandson Hunter McGregor. Survivors inlcude his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Faye Lancaster, daughters, Sheila Hutcherson and her husband James of Ethelsville, AL, Carolyn McGregor and her husband Sam of Vardaman, MS, Diane Ford and her husband Tony of Destin, FL, and Martha McPherson and her husband Scot of Columbus, MS, son, Rickey Lancaster of Columbus, MS, sisters, Ruth Jones, Louise Chain, and Joanne Eudy, brother, Verdo Lancaster and his wife Maxine, eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Austin McGregor, Sammy McGregor, Johnny Brown, Roger Hutcherson, David Hutcherson, and Joey Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Scot McPherson, Chad McPherson, and Reid McPherson.
