Lee High School in Columbus and a 1975 graduate of Mississippi State University with a B.S. Degree in Marketing and Merchandising. After college she worked in the Food service industry in Memphis, Jackson and Mobile. In 2000 Ginger moved back to Columbus. She continued to cook for some of her favorite ladies, Ann Palmer, the late Helen Pilkington and Julia Wade Franklin. She loved cooking and sharing her cooking creations with others. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Ginger will always be remembered for the cocoons that she made at Christmas. It was not unusual for her to make over 1,000 cocoons to give away. Many people, including her family, enjoyed that Christmas gift more than anything else. She also enjoyed reading, watching old movies and taking care of her dogs - Jake, Baby and Cricket. She loved her animals and they loved her. Ginger was a free spirit who moved through life at her own pace. She made lifelong friends wherever she lived and was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Scottie and Burdette Russ of Ridgeland, MS; two nephews Michael Russ (Wendy) and Kirk Russ (Maggie); two great nephews Warner Russ and McCord Russ and three great nieces Reese Russ, Mary Louis Russ and Mary Nash Russ. She is also survived by her special friend Crump Pearman, who has been her caregiver and soul mate.
