CHARLIE BEALL COLUMBUS, MS - Charles Van "Charlie" Beall, age 83, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, First Baptist Church with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. Visitation is from 1-3 prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date. Mr. Beall was born in Jackson on December 28, 1931 to the late John Thaddeus Beall and Louise Fuller Beall. He was a life-long teacher, coach, and school administrator. Charlie graduated from Oak Ridge High School in Tennessee and received a football scholarship to Mississippi State University. He completed his Bachelor's and Master's Degree from MSU and was a loyal Bulldog Fan. Charlie taught, coached or was a school administrator at schools all over the State of Mississippi and part of Alabama. He considered himself extremely blessed to have worked with schools for 60 years. Health issues necessitated the need for him to retire in 2012 at the age of 81. Charlie loved the students, parents and teachers and felt he was fortunate to be provided an opportunity to be a part of their lives. Coach Beall had a unique sense of humor, enjoyed a good laugh and a good joke -even on himself. He appreciated his students quick wit when they were able to get something over on him. Students, teachers, fellow coaches and friends all have a favorite Coach Beall story ready to share with his wife and daughters. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lina Allen Beall of Columbus; daughters, Cameron Cara Beall (Nicholas) Bostick and Caitlyn Shaw Beall, all of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and son, Charles Michael (Jeri) Beall of Atlanta. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Jeffrey McNeese (Nina) Allen of Hattiesburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to: Love in Deed % First Baptist Church, Columbus P.O.
