MACK EGGER William Malcolm "Mack" Egger age 93, died Monday, July 13, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Caledonia United Methodist Church with Tony Gallop and Rev. Mark J. McNair officiating, burial will follow at Egger Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again one hour prior to service at the church. Mr. Egger was born on Sunday, April 30, 1922 in Caledonia, MS, to the late Robert Wood and Essie Pearl Egger. He was a member of Caledonia United Methodist Church, and a graduate of the University of Mississippi. He served four years in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Action. He was a civilian instructor pilot for primary flying with the U.S. Air Force at California Eastern Aviation, Columbus Air Force Base, and Moore Air Force Base in Mission, TX. He spent a total of 37 years as a teacher and coach at Caledonia High School, New Hope High School, and the majority of his career at Lee High School. After his retirement he worked at Bloomer's Nursery and Egger Farms until he was 92 years old. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Agnes Egger Pyron, and his brothers, Robert Earl Egger, Sr., and Burnell Egger. Survivors include: Nieces: Martha Halbert Sue Chappell (Fred) Tracey Pettit (Ron) Nephews: Bobby Egger (Linda) Clifton Egger (Diana) Billy Pyron (Beverly) And a host of great & great great nieces and nephews The Pallbearers will be: Steve Huckaby, Matt Egger, Larry Lawrence, Michael Halbert, Barry Goode, and Jason Nicholson The Honorary Pallbearers will be: Johnny Gibson, Tony Smith, Dean Brock, Ronnie Pennington, Wayne Duncan, Ben Kilgore, Walt Willis, Jeff Smith, Chris Baker, and Bud Egger In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Egger Cemetery Fund P.O.
