Daniel G. Newlun, of Columbus, age 62, Retired CMSGT, USAF, died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Chaplain James Taylor officiating. The son of the late Harold and Cecilia Mager Newlun, Mr. Newlun was born September 16, 1952 in Hammond, IN. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant, United States Air Force at Moody AFB, Valdosta, GA. He then worked as an Air Force contractor at Ft. Rucker, AL, before moving to Columbus almost six years ago. He retired as Director of Maintenance with DynCorp at Columbus Air Force Base. He is survived by his wife Chong Hyon Newlun of Columbus, his son James David Newlun of Eden, NC, his brothers and sister-in-law Don Newlun of Hammond, IN and John and Patricia Newlun of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY.
