ROBERT NEAVES Robert Yates Neaves, Sr., age 79, of Columbus, MS, passed away September 2, 2015, at Darlington Oakes of Verona, MS. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 5, 2015, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be Saturday, September 5, 2015, two hours prior to the service at the church. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Neaves was born July 25, 1936, in Greenwood, MS, to the late Angus T. and Mary Mundy Neaves. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Mississippi State University where he played football for the bulldogs. Mr. Neaves retired as a civil engineer from CECO Building Systems after forty years. He was a Gideon and member of the First Baptist Church of Columbus where he served as a deacon. In addition to his parents, Mr. Neaves was preceded in death by his wife, Delories Sanderson Neaves, son, Scott Neaves, and brothers, Angus T. Neaves, Jr., Walter Frank Neaves, Billy Neaves, and Bonnie Neaves. Survivors include his son, Robert Yates Neaves, Jr., of Columbus, MS, daughters, Deedra Clapper and her husband Lee of Madison, MS, and Donna Luckey and her husband Carlton of Madison, MS, sister, Kathryn Christopher of Clinton, MS, grandchildren, Daniel Clapper, Ashlee Clapper, and Amber Grace Luckey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Sam Bray, Mike Round, Tommy Southerland, Ray Cross, Randy McCall, and Larry Rainey. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O.
