Patricia Rose "Pat" Crowe Belcher, age 76, of Columbus, MS, passed away September 28, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 1, 2015, at 10:00 AM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. DanRobertson and Rev. Bill Duncan officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Pickens County, AL. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 30, 2015, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Belcher was born May 19, 1939, in Fayette, AL, to the late W. F. and Amy Harkins Crowe. She was a graduate of New Hope High School and also received her Journalism Degree from MUW in 1987. She was a retired executive secretary from the Baccalaureate Program in Nursing at MUW from 1977 until 2004 where she was loved, adored, and appreciated by all of the students. Mrs. Belcher served on the board of the Christian Womens Job Corp of the Golden Triangle Baptist Association. She was a lifetime member of East End Baptist Church where she began active work in missions organizations in 1975. Mrs. Belcher served as Girls in Action Director at East End and Associational GA Director, WMU Director at East End, Lowndes County WMU consultant, and WMU Area IV Coordinator for several decades. She also taught first and second grade Sunday School Class for many years, as well as Discipleship Training, Vacation Bible School, and other seminars and conferences. Mrs. Belcher was also a longtime member of the East End Sanctuary Choir and Senior Adult Choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Arthur Belcher, grandson, T. J. Smith, and brother, Dennis Crowe. Survivors include her daughters, Cindy Rivers of Columbus, MS, Tammy Mickley and her husband Brian of Louisville, OH, Terri Debbaut, and Missy Smith and her husband Tim of Madison, MS, brothers, Buford Crowe and his wife Betty of Columbus, MS, Jerry Crowe and his wife Earline of Columbus, MS, and Woody Crowe and his wife Brenda of Columbus, MS, sisters, Christine Brewer of Columbus, MS, and Charlotte Burks of Aberdeen, MS, grandchildren, Garrett Thrasher, Beth Calvert, Luke Rivers, Torie Mickley, Trevor Mickley, Lydia Smith, Aliza Smith, Julianna Smith, and Nicholas Debbaut, and great grandchildren, Garrett Thrasher, III, Izabella Thrasher, and Elijah Calvert. Pallbearers will be Travis Berry, Ernie Smith, Charles Veazey, Mel Sharpe, Marty Dees, and Mike Meggs. Honorary pallbearers will be all WMU ladies of the churches of the Golden Triangle Baptist Association, all active and inactive deacons of East End Baptist Church, Gary Walker, Randy Weeks, Carey Dodson, Mike Coleman, Clayton James, and Herbert Junkin.
