Paul Allen Nance, age 74, of Columbus, MS, passed away October 3, 2015, at Aurora Health & Rehab. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 1:30 PM at Fairview Baptist Church with Dr. Breck Ladd and Rev. Sammy Crawford officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 7, 2015, from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM at the church. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Nance was born October 26, 1940 in Huntington, WV, to the late Paul Edward and Anna Lee Adeline Heinrich Nance. He was a graduate of Huntington High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1959 - 1963. Mr. Nance was a retired chemist from General Tire. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of the North Mississippi Emmaus Community. Mr. Nance was a Mason, former football referee, and member of the Hairston Bend Hunting Club. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Barbara Ford Nance of Columbus, MS, son, Hugh Nance and his wife Tara of Jacksonville, FL, grandchildren, Kyle, Kala, Hope, and Emma Nance, all of Jacksonville, FL, sister-in-law, Dee Poquette and her husband Dan of New Fairfield, CT, and nephew, Adam Poquette of MA. Pallbearers will be Eddie Perkins, Danny Westbrook, Clay Bateman, Mack Eubanks, Larry Bennett, Sammy Townsend, Bob Herron, and Bob Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Shelton, Reed Cooper, Ronnie Colburne, Walt Moseley, Robert Leucke, Billy Crossley, Bob Hickman, Don Davis, Bill Brigham, Bobby Ward, Archie Moore, Bro. Ralph Windle, Craig Barefield, Dick Mahoney, Dr. Brett Brown, Dr. John Whitecare & staff, Aurora Health & Rehab staff, and Billy Bozeman's Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church, 127 Airline Rd., Columbus, MS, 39702, or the charity of your choice.
