Doris Virginia Conn Pridmore Humphries, age 87, of Columbus, MS, passed away October 12, 2015, at Windsor Place. Funeral services will be Friday, October 16, 2015, at 10:00 AM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. Bob Josey officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, October 15, 2015, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mrs. Humphries was born January 10, 1928, in Louisville, MS, to the late William Russell and Voncille McQuirter Conn. She worked for many years in food service at Seminole Manufacturing and MUW. Mrs. Humphries was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and the Widow's Mite Sunday School Class, Keenagers, and AARP. She enjoyed her retirement years, quilting, gardening, playing cards with friends, and traveling with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewitt Pridmore, son, Allan Pridmore, and brothers, James Conn, Willard Conn, Russell Conn, Jr., Louis Conn, and Jack Conn. Survivors include her daughters, Linda P. Josey and her husband Bob of Marietta, GA, and Janet P. Windham and her husband John of Waleska, GA, brothers Ted Conn and his wife Faye of Columbus, MS, Barney Conn and his wife Karen of Columbus, MS, Sisters Bobbie Chain and her husband Bert of Columbus, MS, Betty Clardy of Millport, AL, and Mary George Shepherd of Steens, MS, sister-in-law Jean Conn of Steens, MS, and, grandchildren, Thad Josey, Amanda Short and her husband Jamey, and Haley Pridmore and her husband Paulie, great grandchildren, MyaLynn Pridmore, MarleaLynn Pridmore, Caden Short, Eason Short, and Ryland Josey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Doug Conn, Mike Conn, Chris Chain, Mark Pridmore, Scott Pridmore, and Thad Josey. Memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church Missions, 127 Airline Road, Columbus, MS, 39702.
