ED MARKHAM Edgar "Ed" Markham age 87 died Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Graveside services with U.S. Army Honors, will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Egger Cemetery with Rev. Sammy Crawford officiating. Visitation will be held at Gunter and Peel Funeral Home Friday October 23, 2015 from 5:00 PM til 7:00 PM. Mr. Markham was born on Friday, July 06, 1928 in Amory, MS to the late Thomas Clinton and Ozema Nash Markham. Mr. Markham was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, and attended Auburn University. He was a retired 40 year employee of AkzoNobel Chemical Company. Mr. Markham was a Mason and Shriner and an avid gardener. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict, and participated in the Landing at Inchon, and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He was also a member of the American Legion. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jewel McCoy, Braxton Markham, and Grafton Markham Survivors include: Wife - Edith Martin Markham, Columbus, MS Daughter - Cindy Hunter (Todd Irvin), Columbus, MS Daughter - Amy Hall (Tim), Memphis, TN Son- Bruce Markham (DeeDee), Columbus, MS Grand Children -Clint Markham - Emily Markham - Jeff Hunter - Tyler Hunter - Brooke Williams - Kate Williams - Markham Williams - Ethan Hall - Madison Hall - Jackson Hall Great Grand Children - Hayden Hunter - Ava Hunter - Brennan Hunter Family members will serve as pallbearers Memorials may be made to: Fairvew Baptist Church 127 Airline Road Columbus, MS 39702 or Donor's Choice
