Elizabeth A. Tuttle, age 79, died October 27, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Friday, October 30, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home with Chaplain Brian McCormick, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The daughter of the late Charles F. and Naomi Dillon Gordon, Mrs. Tuttle was born May 29, 1936 in Pearisburg. VA. After graduation from high school, she worked in the Fingerprinting Department of the F.B. I. in Washington, DC. Since moving to Columbus in the early seventies, she was formerly employed by Lowndes General Hospital in the emergency room as an insurance clerk for fifteen years. Mrs. Tuttle retired after being employed as receptionist and insurance clerk for Dr. Edwin D. Meeks, II for twenty-five years. She was a former member of Broadacres Methodist Church and had been attending the Columbus Air Force Base Chapel. She was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Frank Gordon and her sister Mary L. Combs. Mrs. Tuttle is survived by her husband Berlin W. Tuttle, her daughter Vicki A. Tuttle, her son and daughter-in-law Allen G. and Penny Tuttle and her grandson James Allen Tuttle, all of Columbus, MS. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Walter Clay, Elbert Browser, John Robinson, Greg Havens, Alexander Fears, Bill Cagle, Roy Talley and Mark Crunkilton. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the CAFB Chapel, Dr. Edwin D. Meeks, II, Dr. Michael Duckworth and Dr. Barton Williams. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38101.
